Environmental Policy
Issues such as Recycling, Reducing Waste, Energy Efficiency, Saving Water, and Thoughtful Purchasing all play a major part in the everyday running of Sunnybank. Jane has produced a room guide covering many of these topics and we politely request guests to consider and adopt (atleast whilst staying at Sunnybank) our Environmental Policies.
Simple things such as turning off appliances, TVs, lights and fans when not in use, the use of recycled paper in producing room literature, low energy lighting - both normal and emergency, even to the ingredients used in our breakfasts and how they have been sourced all play a part in saving our Environment.
We try to consider both the needs of our guests and the Environment in a balanced way!
Access Statement / Disability
Having taken into account the Disabilities Discrimination Act 1995 with regard to both Sunnybank B&B and Sunnybank Cottage, it is our opinion that neither properties are suitable for wheel chair users in that the bedrooms in both are situated on the upper floors and access to them is by staircase. The Cottage in particular is quite tight in places due to its construction and this would prevent wheel chair users from accessing the rear of the cottage.
Both properties can be accessed by either a slight ramp or single step from the outside, and once inside, individuals who can walk with the aid of sticks can access every part of the properties. Sunnybank B&B does have several flights of stairs but these are split by landings on numerous levels.
With regard to the hard of hearing, partially sighted or blind people, we make every effort to aid in anyway possible, but do realise our limitations and would request that the disability is discussed properly at the time of booking to make sure that we can accomodate and not disappoint.
